ZalaFoto is a family photography business that started back in 1964 by my grandfather in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. The mission is still the same, to provide high quality images to our customers.

The founder Istvan Kincses, whose barber shop was taken by the communist government got photography diploma while served in the army. He was the first photojournalist at the local newspaper Zalai Hirlap. In 1964 he started his own business. After his first heat attack his daughter Eva (my mother) started to work to maintain the business. So, at the age of 17, she started to learn all about the business and about photography. Later she also got a diploma in photography.

Because of the city planning, the business has moved to the heart of the town, to the Ispotály köz in the 80s.

With all the technological changes the equipment changed, but the concept of being client oriented had stayed.

Today Viktor Nyakas continues the legacy and still provides photographic services not only for locals, but for client other part of Hungary and abroad as well. He teaches photography and graphic design in trade school and collaborates in Imagine Studio to provide business clients not only photography services, but videography as well.
